3 Unique Exercises To Fix Your Shoulder Pain
Feb 18, 2025
Shoulder pain is a common complaint amongst many modern people, from desk workers to athletes.
While there are many different causes and types of shoulder pain, the first step in correcting this discomfort is to understand where someone is limited in their shoulder.
An effective assessment will tell us if the front or back of the upper chest and ribcage has more tension and compression.
A compressed upper chest typically means less space between the sternum and the shoulder, which limits internal rotation of the shoulder.
A compressed upper back typically means less space between the shoulder blade and the spine, which limits external rotation.
Once this has been identified we can use specific exercises that bias positions to open these areas for better mobility, which can generally reduce pain.
In today's video, I show three exercises to improve external rotation by opening up space in the upper back.
If you suffer from chronic shoulder pain, and have tried traditional methods without success, these are worth trying for fast and lasting results!
